Introduction
This project proposes a small roadside stop where passers-by can stop to buy local products
from vending machines. Cars can stop under a long black wooden canopy and passengers can
visit a small block with integrated vending machines. Outside is a long, south-facing bench.
On sunny days, people sit on the bench and the canopy provides sun protection; on rainy days,
people sit in their cars and the canopy frames the view. The stop is complemented by an
information board where visitors can find out about walks and activities in the area.

West-Elevation
The canopy is a long, black wooden cassette structure raised 3 m above the ground by means
of steel rods, a concrete wall and a concrete block. The cassette structure is filled with
thin wooden poles. These poles are arranged to filter the external environment without
blocking it completely. These elements sit on a plinth level with the road and are sealed
with polished asphalt to allow cars to enter and exit easily. Simple brass letter signage
rises above the roof to mark the site for passers-by.
We used the opportunity of this competition to test a new render method of integrating 2D vector drawings into a pointcloud which we projected orthographically. In this way we were able to represent the mountain landscape to scale with our intervention.
